Welcome to Lead Your Journey – 60FORME with Bill Hoopes—a channel built around personal growth, leadership, and the responsibility we have to ourselves and the people our lives influence.
Here, we connect the work we do on ourselves to the way we lead our families, build our businesses, develop our athletes, strengthen our relationships, and serve our communities. We talk about the decisions, habits, beliefs, and behaviors that shape our lives—and what it takes to change them with purpose.
My perspective comes from serving as a Navy Chief, teaching in the classroom, coaching athletes, building businesses, developing leadership curriculum, and living the everyday responsibilities of being a husband and dad. Those experiences give us plenty to discuss, but this channel is also a place to listen, ask questions, challenge our thinking, and learn from people whose experiences are different from our own.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE
Through the 60FORME podcast, solo conversations, guest interviews, teaching sessions, and practical discussions, we explore the full spectrum of growth.
We’ll talk about mindset and performance: building confidence, managing pressure, handling disappointment, controlling the controllables, and following through when motivation fades.
We’ll talk about business: entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, networking, customer service, building teams, developing people, and creating a culture where expectations and actions line up.
We’ll talk about athletics: preparing to compete, growing through failure, developing leadership, supporting young athletes, and helping parents and coaches understand how their words and behavior influence confidence and performance. The goal is total student-athlete development, including preparation for life beyond the field.
We’ll talk about relationships: marriage, parenting, friendship, communication, trust, and the effort it takes to stay connected. That includes being present with our kids, listening to our spouses, owning our mistakes, and recognizing when the people closest to us need more than whatever energy we have left at the end of the day.
We’ll talk about faith, purpose, finances, health, and the transitions that make us reconsider where we’re going. Some conversations will offer tools. Others will offer a different perspective or a question you need to sit with.
THE FIVE DIMENSIONS OF 60FORME
MIND
What are you feeding your mind, and how is it affecting your life? We explore self-talk, confidence, learning, emotional awareness, focus, and the thought patterns behind our decisions.
BODY
How are you caring for the body that carries you through every responsibility? We discuss movement, rest, energy, preparation, and sustainable habits that support your daily life.
RELATIONSHIPS
Who is experiencing the person you’re becoming? We look at how we communicate, handle conflict, build trust, express appreciation, and make time for meaningful connection.
FINANCES
How are your financial choices supporting your responsibilities and future? We make room for conversations about spending, planning, business decisions, stewardship, and the pressure money can place on a household.
FAITH
How do your beliefs shape your actions? We explore purpose, trust, service, spiritual growth, and putting faith into practice through the way we treat people and live each day.
These dimensions influence one another. Financial pressure can follow us into our marriage. Poor rest can affect our patience and focus. A change in mindset can help us approach a difficult conversation differently. We explore those connections because growth needs to work in the life you actually live.
HOW WE PUT GROWTH INTO PRACTICE
Intentional effort means deciding what deserves your attention and taking action. It means making time, preparing, following through, and being honest about whether your daily choices support what you say matters.
Being the example means recognizing that people learn from how you live. Our children, athletes, employees, and communities see how we respond to pressure, treat others, accept responsibility, and keep our word.
Grace with consistency over time means allowing room for mistakes while remaining committed to the work. Reflect. Make adjustments. Repair what needs attention. Return to the habits and commitments that help you grow.
BETTER YOU, BETTER THEM
That is the purpose behind this channel.
When you become more patient, your family experiences it. When you communicate more clearly, your team benefits. When you take responsibility, your kids see what accountability looks like. When you care for yourself with intention, you have more capacity to contribute to the people and responsibilities you love.
Whether you’re a parent, spouse, athlete, coach, entrepreneur, leader, or someone working through a new chapter, you’ll find conversations here that connect personal growth to everyday action.
Subscribe, bring your questions, share your experiences, and help shape the conversations ahead.
Lead your journey. Put in the effort. Be the example. Give yourself grace—and keep showing up.
BETTER YOU, BETTER THEM.
